AMD welcomes new Associates

AMD are pleased to announce Melanie Blain and Matthew McTaminey have recently been appointed Associates. The duo are the first appointments in three years and join an exclusive group promoted since the organisation was established in 1982.

If you would like to book an appointment with Melanie, Matthew or anyone in our team, feel free to contact us today to find out how we can help you.

As a strong asset to our Audit team, Melanie has over 15 years’ experience in audit and assurance services. She is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Scientific Content Analyst, and has a Certificate III in Investigative Services.

Melanie works closely with and completes various engagements on behalf of our clients, including fraud and corruption control reviews, risk reviews, financial management reviews and agreed upon procedures. She has led projects for clients in a variety of sectors, including Local Government, Government Trading Enterprises and the extractive industry.

Matthew has worked in our Tax Services team since joining AMD as a Graduate Accountant in 2011. During that time he has become a Fellow of the Tax Institute as well as qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Matt has also undertaken various volunteering roles within the community – including Treasurer of the Leschenault sporting Association.

As an advisor, Matthew provides business and tax advice by working closely with our clients to understand and assist with their unique needs.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Melanie and Matthew as Associates,” AMD Director Shane Kaurin said.

“Both Melanie and Matthew have proven to be strong assets within our team. Their approach to both their work and our clients typifies what AMD set out to achieve when founded over 30 years ago. It makes them the perfect candidates to help our organisation to continue to build and grow.

“They have also shown great team work and approachability, which is reflected in the high regard their colleagues hold of them. Ultimately they’re great people, and I’m excited to see how they help shape our future moving forward.”

Melanie said it felt “wonderful” to be given the opportunity to further develop within the organisation.

“I’m very excited and energised about my new appointment as Associate with AMD,” she said.

“It allows me to further my existing relationships with clients, as well as develop new relationships with stakeholders and clients alike. It’s wonderful to feel so trusted by AMD.”

And its AMD’s commitment to our clients that resonates most with Matthew, who says the global pandemic has brought to the forefront what good service and advice means.

“AMD endeavours to work closely with our clients. Not only for tax compliance, but also as a trusted advisor on a broad range of matters including tax management, planning and business advice,” he said.

“Like many communities, coronavirus impacted many of our client’s businesses and livelihoods, and the role of a trusted advisor is as important as ever. I am grateful that AMD has given me the opportunity to assist our clients no matter the challenge.”
